We're back at Astwood for this event, which starts at 9.00am.  Entry is £3.00 (members) and £5.00 (non-members).

All are welcome: make sure you turn up in time to sign on. You'll need a mechanically sound bike and a bike helmet. We recommend the use of a rear light. You need to be 12 or over to ride time trials; if you are over 12 but under 18 you will need permission from a parent or guardian to take part (download a permission form in pdf format and in Word format). The course has a route description and a risk assessment. Make sure you have familiarised yourself with the course, and remember that time trials are held on open roads - take care and be observant of other road users!

Download the latest Course Description and Risk Assessment (pdf) - please note we will be using the version of the course starting and finishing in Astwood village itself (meeting point near the junction of Astwood High St and the A422) - apart from this, the course description and risk assessment are correct.

For riders new to time trialling, here's a brief introduction to time trials.

Results

Seven riders turned out on a cold September morning for this event, which seemed (to my legs at least) to be rather unaccountably hard.

Tony Farmborough did all the timekeeping, and sign placement, many thanks for that.

We have a plan to run a test event on a new course running from Cranfield to turn at Newport Pagnell next week on Saturday morning, though it may be that we won't get the necessary clearance from London North in time. Keep an eye on the Facebook page. Other than that, the next event is our hill climb championship on the Three Locks course, 9am Sunday 8th October.

And from Bryan, the Handicap Results. Bryan notes: Seven riders and only one 1st claim NBRC! But first handicap went to an ex-NBRC rider who recorded a personal best time!
