The latest news from the North Bucks Road Club, including club news and announcements; club events and results; news relating to the wider cycling community. Club event results are periodically moved to the "Club Events" area, accessible from the menu above.

We have a club meeting on Monday 11th September at the Inn on the Inn on the Lake from 7.30pm. Come along for a drink and to chat about club matters! The Club Committee met on Thursday and the minutes of that meeting will be circulated by email prior to the club meeting. The Committee feels that we should return to conducting club business at Club meetings to ensure members' voices and opinions are better heard.

At Thursday's committee meeting, we discussed (among other things) changes to the TT programme for 2018 aimed at encouraging newcomers, potential open TT events and the LVRC road race.

Our next club meeting will be next Monday (14th August) at the Inn on the Lake from 7.30pm. Come along for a drink and to chat about club matters! Buttonhole the committee and make suggestions for club business...particularly items we can feature at the upcoming AGM.

Here is the club runs list for August to October 2017. Volunteers to lead runs always welcome!

This schedule will be updated as members volunteer to lead runs.

Our next club meeting will be next Monday (10th July) at the Inn on the Lake from 7.30pm. Come along for a drink and to chat about club matters! Buttonhole the committee and make suggestions for club business...

We've updated the club run calendar to include details for most of the runs to 30th July.

Details here.

The club is organising an LVRC road race event on Sunday 25th June on the Foxley circuit near Towcester, and helpers/marshals for the event are required. We've cancelled the club runs on that day, but there will be a group ride over to the event HQ (the A5 Rangers club room) in Towcester for those helping out at the event.

There are races in morning and afternoon on the circuit - helpers are needed for both - let David Price (who's organising the event) know if you're coming.

As reported on the Facebook page, NBRC member Denise Fitzgerald completed the Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo last weekend, coming 9th in her category and qualifying for a place in the Worlds. Here's her report on the day out in the fens...

A year into my cycling and with 4 Sportives under my belt I had the bright idea of entering the Gran Fondo Race thinking it would be fairly similar; how wrong could I be! I guess you are all experts in racing but here are the 3 key lessons I took away:

David Price emailed to ask for help for the LVRC National Road Race Championships that he is organising on 25th June. He writes:

The format is slightly different this year, in that we will have one race in the morning at 10am and a second at 14.00.  It will mean a long day for those that are willing and able to give up a full day.
I mainly need help with the marshalling of the junctions. Each race requires approximately 18 marshalls.  I already have some of the morning racers offering to help with the event in the afternoon.
Race HQ is A5 Rangers Clubroom in Towcester.
After Gordon and Sue Batcock stepped down from this role last year I am looking for helpers to run the kitchen on the day and help make the sandwiches for the marshalls food bag.
All offers of assistance will be greatly appreciated! This is an important NBRC promotion.
