Another warm and sunny evening with a blustery breeze faced the eight starters this evening on the Stoke Hammond course. Fortunately it was a little cooler (or maybe 'less hot') than last week: had the wind been a bit gentler, it might have been a fast evening!

Well, it was  a quick evening for Dan Chambers who put in a fine performance to record 21:09 for first place. Stuart Hall was second with 22:26 and Rob Saunders was a distant 3rd with 24:18, which was good enough for first place on veteran standard. Rob notes that Dan shot past him at about 2.17 miles, and probably kept up the same pace relative to him throughout (scroll down for videos of the catch!). The breeze did seem to make a discernable different along some sections of the course, such as the return leg on the dual carriageway.

After the event, Jo and Rob went to The Dolphin for rehydration, along with Steph who'd come out to watch the fun.

Many thanks to Dick Selley for signage and timekeeping and to Rob Saunders and Ian Stokes for organisational stuff.
