Results

All too soon, we reached the last evening event of our 2026 programme of club time trials. We had changed from the originally planned Cranfield course to the Astwood course (using our preferred version starting in Astwood). There was a decidedly autumnal feel to this evening's race, with thickly overcast skies coupled with blustery windy conditions and a heavy drizzle/Scotch mist/actual rain. Most of the 11 riders got a bit wet in this event. On the other hand, it wasn't terribly cold.

Dan Chambers took the win with en excellent 21:42, followed home by Chris Bradbury with 23:01. Chris was the only rider on a road bike this evening. On veteran standard, Rob Saunders took the win.

Many thanks to all the riders who turned out on this rather dreary inauspicious evening. And indeed, thanks to all those who supported our time trial series by riding. Especial thanks go to Dick Selley, who turns out week after week to place the sogns and deal with the timekeeping. Without Dick, we'd have no time trial series.

So, the usual thanks to Dick, and to Rob and Ian for admin stuff. Jim Eastment took a bunch of photos (see gallery below - the originals at higher resolution can be seen here).

To mark the last event, some of us celebrated with rehydration and excellent pizzas at The Old Swan in Astwood.
