Hello all, So that’s the first leg of our interclub with the A5 Rangers. We will just have to be patient and wait till Wednesday 11th of June for the away leg which is to take place on the N5/10c course. Details of that course will be available nearer the time. The enthusiastic support for this competition from both A5 Rangers and the NBRC teams was much appreciated. I’m not sure of the point’s allocation yet but as soon as just who gets what are known then we will advise you all. Congratulations to Stuart Tarry for a fine win on this course and managing to keep clear space between himself and the hard time chasing Simon Cannings. Tony Parks (straight from work with twenty or so miles training under his belt) laid claim to the top spot for the NBRC team with his time of 22.01 Well done all of you. Everyone managed to improve on their PB’s by varying amounts between one and two minutes. It was left to Trevor Parrish to bring the visitors team of five riders home. Trevor is a great competitor who always makes 100% effort. You will notice that the three top placed riders on vet’s standard come from the A5 Rangers. Only Gilbert getting anywhere near them. Battle of the ladies was won by the NBRC Katherine Dilks after getting best of Sue Holliday of the A5 Rangers, another great competitor. Any doubts about this course being fast were blown apart last night as the explosive power of Geoff Perry proved the doubters wrong when he recorded a new PB time of 22.45 beating his previous PB of 22.54 by nine precious seconds. That record, which was set by a youthfull 19 years old, has been with Geoff since 1979. Other improvements worthy of special note are that of Stuart Chung and Lindz Barral both around the two minutes mark. Next Wednesday it’s back to the F5v/10 Astwood for another bash around this popular course. First rider off at 19.00hrs. My thanks are due to both Mary and Bryan for managing the start and Rina for taking care of the club room while we were out enjoying ourselves. See you all again next week… Regards, Tony.F
