How lucky were we with the weather? Not exactly balmy, but so much better than we hoped for given the previous 2 weeks worth of (proper) winter.

The conditions did cause the organisers to make one small course change to avoid having to ride up a narrow, steep lane covered in sheet ice. A nearby alternative was rideable, though not easily. Overall, the course lived up to its billing, a challenge!

Apart from that, the unannounced closure of the Bow Brickhill railway crossing caused another last-minute diversion but caused no real problems.

This year's event attracted 81 brave souls, only 6 of whom did not complete the tough course. Very well done to all riders, and we hope you all enjoyed a hot soak in the bath.

Timing for the event was provided by Race Timing Systems using their excellent transponder system. 78 riders used this system and a further 3 riders elected to complete the route without timing (shy?).

We hope you all enjoyed the ride and look forward to seeing you again at future NBRC events. Just keep an eye on the website.
