I think we'd all become used to warm weather of August, so the quite chilly condition came as a bit of a shock! A field of 22 lined up to race this event, and not even a car parked on top of the start line dented our enthusiasm. More awkward was the tractorial activity - several fields were being harvested, and at one point, riders were starting only to disappear into a cloud of dust thrown up by combine harvesters!

The event was won by Rob Saunders, with Mark Ellis hot on his heels.  We had a first time rider - Stephen - who a good ride on a road bike to take 16th place on 26:00 in his first ever time trial. And finally - commiserations to Steve Torley who punctured and couldn't finish. Other notable rides were Sam Carrington (his previous best time was 25.44, now 24.53 and a Junior course record), and Luke Daniells, who improved from a previous best time of 28.30 to 27.47. And Graham Line and Alan Crane were pretty close to their best times.

A reminder - our next League event is on Saturday 30th August up on the Stony course.
