Within the 2015 club time trial calendar, the club designates two events as "come and try it" events. We hope to attract interest in time trialling and in the club. This event is the second of them, and will be held on Wednesday 17th June on the Astwood circuit. The course for these events has been modified so that we can start and finish near the Bike Bus cafe. Make sure you review the course and risk assessment for this version before you ride!

Riders new to time trialling are advised to read our brief introduction to time trialling. You'll see lots of "funny bikes", but any road-worthy bike is fine! Want to know more? You can enter on the line. You'll need a bike in good condition and a safety helmet. We will meet at the Bike Bus cafe - make sure you arrive in time to sign on.

The event begins 7.15pm, entry is £2.50 (NBRC members) and £3.00 (non-members).

Results 

We had a fantastic turnout, with at least 8 first timers. There was a great atmosphere, and everyone seemed to enjoy their exertion. An excellent ride in quite challengingly windy conditions saw Jez Honor take the win on the evening. For my part I was delighted to see Andy Wickham do so well - clearly his training for the Tour de France ride is paying dividends (unless the leg shaving had a magical effect). It was also good to see former member Steve Cole again.

Many thanks to the start crew, Steph Cousins and Bryan Scarborough (both of North Bucks) and Mary Hartley (Team Salesengine). Mary very kindly agreed to step in as finish timekeeper. And the forecast rain held off, which was good.
