Stagsden '10' 29/7/15 (NBRC Championship '10')

We return to the Stagsden 10 mile course for this evening's club time trial, which is the North Bucks Road Club 10 mile time trial championship. If you're new to the course, please review the course description. The course description has a link to the risk assessment for the course.

All are welcome at our club time trials: make sure you turn up in time to sign on. You'll need a mechanically sound bike and a bike helmet. We recommend the use of a rear light, especially in evening events. You need to be 12 or over to ride time trials. If you are under 18 you will need permission from a parent or guardian to take part (download a permission form in pdf format and in Word format). Each of our courses has a route description and a risk assessment. Make sure you have familiarised yourself with the course!

The event starts at 7.15pm and entry is £2.50 (members) and £3.00 (non-members).

The full calendar of events is here. Results of club events held earlier this season are here.

Results

Some surprisingly heavy showers saw several riders who'd travelled out the the event on their bikes arrive soaked to the skin and feeling rather cold (I was one of them). The elements then conspired to hit us with a second shower as riders 'warmed up', so that a pretty soggy and shivering crew of testers lined up at the start of the NBRC Championship '10'. Despite the large puddles of standing water in various places on the course, the roads near the turn were bone dry! The return leg was definitely quicker.

Richard Golding was fastest on the night, with Robert Saunders coming in a close second to take the NBRC '10' Championship. Fastest woman was Helene Wight. It was rather gratifying to see the large turnout of 21 riders, including 11 NBRC members, among them Steph Cousins who's been able to race rather than watch the watches recently. Once again we had a new rider trying time trialling for the first time, Martin Scudder, who turned out on his road bike and defied his nerves for a creditable 17th place - hopefully Martin will come again!

Thanks to John Pick (Chronos RT) for helping Tony with the timekeeping, and Bryan for the pushing off.
