Course change

Because the Brogborough course is unusable due to traffic lights on the course, we are switching to the Astwood course for this event. Furthermore, since the Astwood '20' could not take place due to surface dressing on a section of the course we will be riding two laps - this event replaces last week's event.

This event is to be held on the Brogborough course (F15/10). This is the fastest of the courses we currently use for our TT league, and it's usually popular.

If you are new to the course, please review the course description and  risk assessment. The map of the Course route includes download links for many GPS enabled computers (you need to select "EXPORT" near the right hand edge of the screen to access this).

The event starts at 7pm, and entry is online only at £5.50 (NBRC members and non-members), THERE WILL BE NO ENTRY ON THE LINE FOR THIS EVENT.

The meeting point is under the flyover midway between the start at the top of Brogborough Hill and the finish. We're limited to 40 riders for this event If you're riding out to the event, please take care to bring lights for your ride home.

In the event of roadworks or other problems, we will use the Astwood course (F5v/10).

The results of this time trial will be posted online shortly after the event has been completed. These data include riders’ Names, Club, Category and their Result.

Start List

First rider starts 7.01pm. Please take care on the surface dressed section, there will still be loose gravel. Also take care when passing through Astwood as you begin lap 2.  

Results

After a very difficult few weeks of roadworks affecting many of our events, we finally held the Astwood 20 mile event, held over two laps of the Astwood circuit. After a spell of fine weather, the record breaking heat of the previous two days ended, rather unfortunately with rain showers, and quite heavy at times.

Congratulations to Stuart for the fine ride to take the win this evening. First NBRC rider was Mark Halliday, who takes the club’s time trial championship. Completing the top three was Robert, who took first place on veteran standard.

Well done all who braved the sometimes wet and blustery conditions, and it was fun to repair to the pub afterwards even though my grand plan of sitting outside in the sunshine was thwarted by weather (we stood outside, most of the riders who were there were a little soggy by this time!).
