Results

After the recent weeks of hot weather, it was a pleasure to be racing in rather more normal temperatures - what was less welcome war the blustery wind that made things pretty difficult.

We had five riders on the start list, but two didn't start, leaving three of us to battle things out.
The win went to Mark with a strong performance of 23:36 while Martyn recorded a narrow improvement on his course PB. Somewhere in the middle was Robert, trying out a new deep rim front wheel. No excuses, there were no real problems controlling it in the windy conditions!

I think for the first time this season, we have a tie for first place on vet standard!

Many thanks to Dick (who is back to his usual sprightly self courtesy of his titanium Colnago hip joint) who not only placed the signs, but retrieved them as well. Oh, and he did the timekeeping too!

After the event, we stopped at The Swan for a beer. Katja and Geoff had arrived during the race, and Steph and Graeme also arrived, having hotfooted it over from an afternoon '10' near Newbury.

All good fun. Only one more evening event before a few on Saturday mornings.
