Stony Stratford 11.4 mile Time Trial 24th August 2022
This event is to be held on the Stony 11.4 mile course. If you are new to the course, please review the course description and risk assessment. Here is the course route - includes download links for GPS enabled computers.
No entry on the line – entries close 24h before the event.
The event starts at 6.45pm Wednesday 24th August, and entries will be made online at £5.50 for members and non-members alike. Maximum number of riders 30. THERE WILL BE NO ENTRY ON THE LINE FOR THIS EVENT.
The meeting point is in the car park by the river, on Calverton Road, near the start by Milford Avenue.
Remember to bring both front and rear lights if you plan to ride home after the event.
In the event of roadworks or other problems, we will use the Astwood course (F5v/10).
The results of this time trial will be posted online shortly after the event has been completed. These data include riders’ Names, Club, Category and their Result.

Results
It was a pretty warm and humid evening, with a noticeable wind for this event. It turned out to be quite fortunate that we'd decided to shift the start to 7pm, because those of us travelling to Stony Stratford from South East if Milton Keynes has trouble with some serious traffic jams. Anyway, all 8 riders started, and all 8 finished.
Mark took the win with 27:00 dead, and also pipped Robert by 1 second for the win on Veteran standard. Well done Mark! After the event we swung by the Shoulder of Mutton for a beer. While in the beer garden, we commiserated with Steph, who has contrived to scrape one of her Garmin power pedals on the kerb just after finishing. I hear that the pedal still works, which is good.
Many thanks to Dick for not only placing and retrieving the signs, but doing the time-keeping. This was the last evening event in our TT series, remaining events are scheduled for Saturday mornings, beginning with an event on the Brogborough course on 3rd September.
