The NBRC TT Championship was run off in cloudy but dry and warm (to a Northerner) conditions with a fairly stiff southerly breeze.  The event had been postponed from 3 weeks before when new chippings appeared on the course a matter of hours before the first rider was due to start.

Tim Carter is to be congratulated for dominating the proceedings by not only becoming Champion in a record time of 45.28 but by also being best vet on standard  and bringing the most supporters.  His first lap time of 22.10 was just outside the 1 lap course record of 22.01 created by Leigh Smith in 2005.  Nearly all riders improved their times compared with previous outings on this course distance.  The biggest of these were Paul Owen and Alan Lawson who both confirmed the progress they have made this season.  Alan has taken on a new lease of life since getting hitched to the delightful Nell.  Mark Devlin rode his first ever TT to finish with a highly commendable time of 56.59 and applied for membership of the Club on the strength of it.  He should be very welcome especially after handing over a cheque for his subscription.

Many thanks to the timekeepers (ladies first) Mary, Sarah and Tony F and illustrious pusher-off Brian S.  Thanks also to Mary for keeping order at the finish and to Tony F for all the other tasks he performs in running these events.  Finally thanks to all riders for competing.
